I’m Mia. Some of you may have stumbled across me before under the name thewinterdrafts, but these days I write under my pen name, because it felt right to give this chapter of my life a fresh identity.
I’ve been writing since I was fourteen (and yes, I was that teenager scribbling Justin Bieber fanfiction on the internet — every writer starts somewhere, right?). English isn’t my first language, but it’s the one I chose to tell Frostbite in for the very first time, and it has become just as much my home as my mother tongue.
The Coldfire Series wasn’t supposed to be this big. Frostbite was meant to be a short thing, maybe ten chapters, just to get an idea out of my system. But it kept growing, and before I knew it, the characters had unpacked their bags and refused to leave. Now it’s become an entire universe — one I never planned for, but one I’m endlessly grateful for.
When I’m not writing, I’m studying graphic design, snapping photos, doodling, or daydreaming about future projects. Writing, though, is the one constant I always come back to — it’s the thing that keeps tugging on my sleeve no matter how busy life gets.
Will the Coldfire books ever end up in an actual bookstore, you may ask? I can’t predict the future — but let’s just say, you might want to keep some room on your shelf, just in case.
I’m so glad you’re here. You’ve found the frost, but I hope you’ll also find warmth in these pages.
Lots of love,
